Meet Our Teachers

Jeanette Henry Brown

For nearly two decades, Jeanette has used her passion for making Pilates accessible to everyone to help her clients achieve their personal goals and transform their bodies.

Jeanette began Pilates at Riverside Community College in 2005. Upon experiencing significant improvements in alignment, strength and well-being attributed to Pilates, she has made it her mission to teach true and effective Pilates.  Completing Pilates Certification at Long Beach Dance Conditioning in 2007 gave her the tools she needed to train folks who need modifications of the original exercises due to surgery or limited mobility.

Driven by her client’s needs, she has obtained certification to teach pre- and post-natal mothers, work with clients with neurological disorders, and members of the aging population. She has completed courses in:

  • Therapeutic stretching in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF)
  • Workshops in Myofascial Release techniques
  • Pilates adaptations from the Postural Restoration Institute
  • Trained with several prominent Classical Pilates teachers who were trained by Joseph Pilates protégé, Romana Kryzanowska.

In 2019 she became Certified by her Classical Pilates teacher, Siri Galliano, of Live Art Pilates.

During the pandemic she co-developed a Pilates for Equestrians program with PT and Equestrian Stephanie Seheult and has worked with many riders in person and virtually to improve their form and their riding.

In 2021 she established Positively Pilates, her studio she shares with her Yoga mentor and Mother-in-law Amy Brown of Divine Yoga. She is working towards her Iyengar Yoga Certification and assists yoga classes at the studio weekly.

Her latest achievement, Jeanette has completed the Scolio-Pilates® Pracitioner training and certification to better serve those with scoliosis utilizing the Pilates method.

As a new mother, Jeanette can appreciate the great changes our bodies go through, and respects the natural ability of the body to adapt and heal with time and correct technique.

When she is not at the studio instructing Pilates, she is inspired by nature through gardening, hiking, paddling, and volunteering at nature preserves.  An herbalist since 2010, Jeanette loves to share her enthusiasm for plants through guiding plant identification walks and teaching basic traditional herbal medicine techniques for people to practice at home.   She is passionate about bringing people in touch with their innate physical abilities and experiencing their senses fully in exercise and through being in nature. Inspired by her friends, family and clients it is through her passions she aims to improve the lives of others.

Chav'nair Stocker

Chav’nair Stocker joined Positively Pilates in 2022.  Chav,’ as she likes to be known, received her Pilates Certification through the teacher training program at Riverside City College in addition to three Associates’ degrees in Dance, Fine and Applied Arts, and Social and Behavioral Studies. She has a deep love and passion for Pilates because she shares the intention of Joe Pilates to have a whole and healthy body. She recognizes the attention to detail required to teach and practice Pilates correctly and embraces this aspect in her teaching. In her free time she enjoys hiking, cycling and investigating other healing modalities. Continuing her education in Pilates, she recently completed Module 1 & 2 of the Scolio-Pilates method and enjoys seeing her clients with Scoliosis progress. Her approach to teaching is to challenge her clients while prioritizing safety and effectiveness.

“Most importantly throughout your entire lesson I choose to instruct with love and encouragement because your body is much stronger than you think. I hope to see you soon.” – Chav’
